Mr. Pim's paper mills and grist mills shown in Coldridge's survey of Exeter 1818-19 (in Devon Record Office). To be sold ... All those extensive paper mills, capable of working 8 vats at one time, in which the paper manufactory has for many years been carried on by Messrs. Pims ... situated near Engine Bridge EFP 25/11/1819 4e. For sale EFP 17/4/1823 4e, 6/8/1829 1a. Charles Harris and Edward Norish Tremlett dissolve partnership, Tremlett continuing there alone EFP 28/11/1844 3g. For sale EFP 18/1/1871 1b. Fire EFP 22/2/1882 7c. Reconstructed brick building, which included a set of drying cyliners by Bentley and Johnson of Bury dated 1882 and a Robey steam engine for use when the River Exe's flow was insufficient, operated until 1967. Until after the first World War it was in the hands of the Tremlett family, then taken over by E.S. and A.Robinson of Bristol. Later operated by Head Weir Paper Mills Ltd. Largely demolished ca.1985.
